
There are a number of tests that we perform to evaluate the basic hearing function for a patient. The Hearing Evaluation includes: Video Otoscopic Exam, Air Conduction, Bone Conduction and Speech Audiometry testing. The tests consist of a series of low frequency and high frequency tones along with a list of words to determine your ability to understand speech. The results will help us determine your percentage of hearing loss, your ability to understand speech, and whether or not there is a need for hearing aids.
Typanometry, acoustic reflex testing, and otoacoustic emissions (OAEs) are other tests available to further evaluate your hearing. Together, these evaluations provide information to the degree, type, and amount of impairment on communication that a patient's hearing loss might cause. From this information, we can determine if hearing aids are needed, what style or type of hearing aid would best fit the level of loss, and to what degree we can help the patient.

Common battery sizes are 10, 13, 312 and 675. To identify the battery size, manufacturers use an industry standard color code system.

We also offer a Battery Club program for our patients who have difficulty getting to our office for battery purchases. A Battery Club book can be purchased for $25 at any time. Inside you will find seven (7) postcards to be mailed to our office when you need more batteries. We will mail a card of 4 batteries to you as soon as we receive the postcard. No need to get out of the house!
